Please be advised: Dhow reported on 21 December is now confirmed as a hijacked vessel likely conducting mothership operations to conduct further attacks. Dhow was last located underway near position 04:01S - 048:47E at 1310Z on 22 December 2009. Vessel was heading north. Mariners are warned to steer clear of this area if possible. If necessary to transit near this position, mariners are warned to use extreme caution and employ counter-piracy measures. This area will remain high risk for at least the next 24-48 hours.
